Spain: Post-doctoral Position in Cognitive Neuroscience, the Pompeu Fabra University

Applications are invited for a full-time post-doctoral research position in the SPEECH ACQUISITION AND PERCEPTION GROUP (http://www.sap.upf.edu) at the Brain and Cognition Unit of the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) (http://ucc.upf.edu). The post is part of the BRAINGLOT project, a Research Network on Bilingualism and Cognitive Neuroscience (Consolider-Ingenio 2010 Scheme, Spanish Ministry of Science and Education) (http://brainglot.upf.edu/)

Project
The project brings together the efforts of several research groups spanning different scientific disciplines with the common purpose of addressing the phenomenon of bilingualism from an open and multidisciplinary perspective. The SAP group research goals are focused on understanding the underlying mechanisms supporting efficient speech perception both in native and non-native languages. The project includes behavioral and neuroimaging (fMRI, ERP) approaches.

Job description
We seek a person who leads the electrophysiological aspects of the project, including the development of independent scientific studies, as well as the participation (i.e., supervision) in others. Involvement in some organizational and management aspects is also expected.

Candidate requirements
Candidates should hold a PhD in the behavioural or cognitive neurosciences by the time of the application (although candidates from other research backgrounds will also be considered if their skills are relevant to the project). A record of published research, previous experience with ERP/EEG recording and analysis and good programming skills are essential.

- Duration: The position is initially funded for two years

- Salary: Commensurate with experience.
