Indian Government Scholarships 2011 for Indonesian Students For Undergraduate & Postgraduate Studies

The Government of India offers, every year, 20 scholarship slots to meritorious students from Indonesia to pursue their higher studies in Indian universities and colleges. The scholarships are granted for studies at Undergraduate & Post-graduate levels and in research subjects under M.Phil. and Ph.D.

The scholarships are administered by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) under its General Cultural Scholarships Scheme (GCSS). Applications for scholarships under this scheme are invited in the month of November- December every year. These scholarships are also available for nationals of Timor Leste.

Applications need to be submitted to the Embassy of India in Jakarta only and not direct to ICCR or the concerned University.

Under the Scheme, Living Allowance, Contingent Grant, accommodation charges, Tuition Fee and other benefits, including medical and study tour to the students selected for scholarships are provided. However, the cost of air passage to India and back is not covered.

Innovative Young BioTechnologist Award (IYBA) 2010

The ‘Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award’ (IYBA) was instituted by the Department of Biotechnology in the year 2005, as an attractive, career-oriented scheme to identify and nurture outstanding young scientists with innovative ideas and desire to pursue research in frontier areas of biotechnology.

For the year 2010 awards the department invites applications from the young investigators upto the age of 35 years.

The award will consist of financial support for a project and Cash Award/fellowship for the awardees. Awardees having a regular employment will receive a cash award of ` 1.00/- Lakh every year during the course of the project in addition to grants-in-aid of ` 50.00/- Lakhs for a project.

The awardees, those are not in the regular employment will receive a fellowship of ` 40,000/- per month and shall be attached to a Senior Scientist (Mentor) in a University, Research Institute, Medical/Agriculture/ Veterinary College or any other institute of repute.

It is expected that the awardees will work independently and the Mentor will facilitate the awardees research efforts.

Qualification:

Ph.D. in any branch of life sciences including Medicine, Veterinary Sciences, Pharmacy, Agricultural Sciences, and engineering sciences. Master degree in Medicine, Engineering/Technology is also eligible to apply
